6th Annual Western Region Ride on Military Pride 2018
ROMP
What is it?
It is a Thank You to all the Legion Riders for their patriotic recognition of veterans, hard work and
commitment over the past year that resulted in support for many Veteran causes.  Each year the
ROMP is held in a different state.
When is it?
It will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018- Sunday, June 3, 2018.
Who comes?
Any American Legion Riders from Region 5, which includes most Western states, may come.  There
were 195 riders that attended the 2016 ROMP and each year it tends to grow.  We can reasonably
expect 200-250 riders in 2018.  There will be preregistration, so we should get a good estimate of the
attendance prior to the event.  This fee will include the main meal on Saturday night, event T-shirt,
ROMP patch and rocker, and guided rides.
What do we do?
There will be organized rides on Friday and Saturday.  We will be offering meals for a fee on each
day of the ROMP.  There will be live entertainment at the Post on Friday and Saturday night.  We will
also have a meeting on Saturday which will include a Keynote Speaker – TBD.  There will be various
other activities and raffles going on throughout the weekend.  We will have been selling raffle tickets
throughout the year for our big finale; giving away a custom-built motorcycle that was donated by
John Fassett.
Where will they stay?
We have rooms blocked at local hotels at a set price and we will also have camping
recommendations for those interested.
Why do we want to do this?
The ROMP is a great way to get Post 7 recognized.  The post will financially benefit as well as
veterans causes.
How can you help?
This event will need the support of all factions of Post 7 (Legionnaires, SAL, Auxiliary) in partnership
with the Riders to be a success.  Seven American Legion Riders will be going to the 2017 ROMP to
secure Post 7 as the 2018 ROMP host.  Once our Post has been appointed, the real work begins.
We will need volunteers for various duties before, during and after the ROMP.
